The first MHS Pop-up Art Showcase a tremendous hit with manufacturers

Manufacturers from 20 different countries took part in the online MHS Art Showcase held May 14-17.

The inaugural Pop-Up Art Showcase launched by MHS Licensing & Consulting was created in an effort to fill the void left in the manufacturer’s product development calendar by the move of Surtex from May to February.

The feedback has been positive overall. “I enjoyed the video for the showcase… it was very interesting to see how Fluidity and The Art of Marbling create their art. So often we just see the end result of artists’ work and not the actual creative process. The MHS Art Showcase gave us a peek behind the curtain.” said Diane Dempsey, VP of Sales, Wall Décor Division, Boston Warehouse Trading Company.

Thirty percent of those attending did so through their mobile devices, many of them before or after typical workday hours.

“Through our analytics, we were able to determine that hundreds of people, representing 20 different countries virtually attended our Showcase, watched the video and downloaded the available artwork,” said Marty Segelbaum, President of MHS Licensing. “While actual in-person trade show meetings are beneficial, the efficiency of this new platform exceeded our expectations and we are already planning our next one.”

Over 500 pieces of new original artwork was revealed during the 4-day event including new artist Deane Beesley.

Manufacturers of categories ranging from greeting cards to garden décor logged in. “Best showcase I’ve seen! I really appreciated hearing from the artists themselves, and the work felt relevant to many different markets. Plus, it was so easy after watching the video to scroll down and focus on finding out more about each piece and the artist that had captured my eye. Kudos!” said Margo Tantau, Director of Product Innovation, Studio M.
