MHS Licensing now introducing five new art brands at Surtex Show, booth 2626

MHS Licensing partners with The Art of Marbling, UTURN Studios, Jen Montgomery, Jetty Home and Lovitude™

In addition to partnering with art brands Jen Montgomery, Jetty Home and Lovitude™, MHS Licensing most recently added The Art of Marbling by HJR Studio and UTURN Studios to their impressive roster of art properties and will begin showcasing their talents at the upcoming Surtex Show (booth 2626) to be held at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center in New York, May 20-22, 2018.

Marty Segelbaum, President of MHS Licensing says, “We understand that finding new talent and trends is top of mind for our licensing partners at this show. It’s crucial that we not only have new content from our proven art brands, but more importantly new and untapped artists to offer. We’re confident these talented additions will open their eyes to fresh new ideas.”

Using an ancient art form dating back to the 11th Century, The Art of Marbling by HJR Studio is a stunning on-trend portfolio of handcrafted, proprietary Marbling patterns, ranging from the simple organic ‘stone’ patterns to the more complex, highly intricate feather-like designs. HRJ Studios traveled the world studying these distinctive techniques and now offers ONE OF A KIND patterns in stunning, colorful collections of versatile artwork that can be used to grace everything from home décor and stationery, to textiles, apparel, accessories and much more!

Genuine. Happy. Engaging. Smile-inducing. April Turner, the creator of UTURN Studios strives to capture the pure joy that pets bring everyone and deliver it in colorful, cheerful imagery which is sure to put a smile on your face. Her subjects are local shelter pets, and their interaction and engagement with the camera shines through, making each image a true reflection of the furry personalities April works with. “It warms my heart that these images will not only help each pet find their new family but will also go on to spread smiles far and wide on licensed product,” says April Turner.

Inspired by kitsch, botanicals and happy mid-century color palettes, Jen Montgomery is a multi-disciplinary creator who strives to create thoughtful artwork that sparks joy and delight. Jen’s range covers hand-lettered sentiment, seasonal icons and celebration themes, appropriate across multiple categories of consumer products. She is eager to collaborate with licensees in the development of successful product lines, bringing great value to the partners.

Jetty Home brand creator Emily Wood saw a need to bring a modern twist to recognized icons in the home décor world starting with art prints. What began in 2014 has grown dramatically and today her collections explore an array of trend, every day and seasonal designs – while still exemplifying that approachable, peaceful attitude.

Emily focuses her art on simple, yet classic, hand-painted watercolor and acrylic designs. Her painterly style lends itself well to a wide variety of product categories, including wall décor, tabletop, home textiles, stationery and gift items. Recently, Emily has added new hand lettering techniques – making collections of typography prints that will bring a little whimsy to home décor.

Anne Pryor is a Soul Painting Artist and the creator of Lovitude™ – which means Love and Gratitude, the highest energy in the universe. Her paintings are ‘visual blessings’ and have been said to elucidate, awaken and activate souls. Anne’s unusual technique is created with alcohol ink, her breath (no paint brushes), a variety of essential oils that bless each composition. Her paintings are infused with gold metallic ink and painted on clear plastic

Lovitude™ is already poised to ride the momentum of its first and highly successful wave of initial product launches earlier this year including throws and pillows by Manual Woodworker and Weavers.

It’s always thrilling to see an art brand have success and immediately reward their licensee partners,” says Segelbaum. “Considering we haven’t yet formerly introduced the property and the reaction has already been so favorable, we are confident a show like Surtex will really catapult the art brand into numerous deals.”

In addition to these new art brands, MHS Licensing will also be introducing new images from their already successful and sought-after artist brands at Surtex. Collectively these proven art properties generate over $120 million in annual sales through their licensee partners.
