James Hautman of the Hautman Brothers named Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year

Wildlife artist Jim Hautman, the youngest of the three Hautman Brothers has been named Ducks Unlimited 2011 Artist of the Year. His painting, "First Light – Canvasbacks," won the top spot at this year’s event. This is Jim’s second time winning this celebrated award.

The Hautman Brothers licensing program consistently ranks in the top 100 worldwide licensors and encompasses over 100 companies. Their artwork can be found on everything from home textiles and giftware to stationery and collectibles. While Jim’s generosity in donating this painting to wildlife conservation is applauded, it unfortunately renders it restricted from licensing. However the Hautman Brothers’ enormous library of images, consisting of over 1000 paintings, is available and can be seen by clicking here.

Jim’s accomplishments as a painter are too numerous to mention but his passion for wildlife conservation cannot be overlooked. Over the years Jim and his brothers, Joe and Bob Hautman have raised millions of dollars for habitat conservation. "It is a great honor to be named Ducks Unlimited artist of the year," said Hautman. "It is particularly satisfying to have my artwork chosen by people who are passionate about the outdoors.” Established in 1937, Ducks Unlimited is the world's largest non-profit organization made up of nearly 800,000 members throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico and are dedicated to conserving North America's continually disappearing waterfowl habitats.
