Tina Higgins

Born and raised in the countryside near Portland, Oregon, I have always been interested in nature, art and design. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1985 and worked for Portal Publications in graphic design in San Francisco.

In 1992 I decided to expand my creative talents and began licensing my artwork and it has been an amazing ride since then. It is a pleasure to come into my studio each day and thoroughly enjoy the work that I do. I especially like to collaborate with the product development teams at my licensees and create products that are on-trend, beautiful and functional. I study trends from all over the world including color, iconography, textures and incorporate them into my collections.

I have a true affinity for ephemera and love to go to flea markets and paper markets buying vintage postcards, wallpaper and prints... 250,000 pieces in my library and counting!

I then tweak, collage and update the vintage pieces while being inspired by current trends and colors, which the result is a collection that resonates the Tina Higgins style. Applying them to product concepts is the final step in bringing this art to life to be shared with consumers through my licensees.

My family means the most to me, my friends are the ones who inspire me. I have been married to my architect husband for over 26 years, have two wonderful children and a lovable yellow lab named Roxy who keeps me company in my home studio.

I consider myself to be very fortunate to be making a living as an artist and am deeply grateful to all those who support my work and make it possible to continue to do what I love.
